Hong Kong Apartment Short Term Rental
China covers a large area in East Asia, and has the honour of being known for the worlds oldest civilization.
For many centuries it was at the forefront of civilization, but unfortunately during the 19th and 20th century many wars damaged China and the Imperial rule was no more. After the Chinese Civil War ended in 1949, two parties emerged, The People's Republic of China, which controls mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau and The Republic of China, since 1912 now known as Taiwan. Part of the ROC are also the islands of Kinmen, Matsu, Penghu and Taiwan.
Plateaus and mountains are to be found in the west and east of China.
The largest rivers are the Huang He, Yangtze and the Amur. The majority of the rivers finally flow into the Pacific Ocean.
To the east beside the banks of the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea the areas are heavily poplulated. The southern area of China has many hills and mountains.
In China the weather changes quite dramatically in different regions. In the north summer temperatures regularly exceed 30 degrees celsius. Where as the winters have freezing temperatures.
In the central area they receive hot summers and cold winters, but in the southern area the climate is subtropical with extremely hot summers and mild winters.
