Croatia is located in Central Europe. The capital city is Zagreb. Croatia shares it's borders to the north with Slovenia, in the northwest to Hungary, Herzegovina and Bosnia in the southeast, in the east Serbia and to the southeast Montenegro.

The offical language is Croatian and the population in 2009 was estimated to be 4,489,409.
Along the coastal regions of Croatia the weather tends to follow a Mediterranean climate. Sunny, dry and hot in the summer months and quite mild during the winter.
However, in the inland regions the weather pattern follows a more a continental climate. Winters are quite cold and snow likely. The summers however, are very hot.
