Paphos is located in the south west of Cyprus along the coast.The city of Paphos is the capital of Paphos District. According to ancient records two areas were called Paphos, there is the Old Paphos and the New Paphos. New Paphos where the majority of the population now live. Paphos is located next to the Mediterranean coast, approximately 50 km west of Limassol.

Close to Palaepaphos, in the old Paphos, located at the coastal area of Petra-tou-Romiou is where the mythical birthplace of Aphrodite is to be found. This Greek Goddess of love and beauty was so famous, that this goddess made old Paphos a very important place of worship in ancient times.

Paphos Town is included in the UNESCO list of natural and cultural treasures of the world.

The climate in Paphos is Subtropical-Mediterranean. The summer April to November, and winter December to March. However temperatures of 20 degrees celcius are not unheard of during December.
