A french self catering holiday cottage. This historic watermill, in central France, is 700 years old and sits in 20 acres of pasture and woodlands. The accommodation consists of double bedrooms en suite, kitchen, lounge, veranda, patio, river, waterfall and private island with barbeque. Whilst normally self catering, part board is available for your cottage holiday. Your dog is also welcome for his holiday. Beautiful countryside, quiet and secluded. It is not necessary to travel far for excellent fishing for the fishing enthusiast and other sports and recreations are available.

About us

This part of central France is the Limousin and includes the historic towns of Limoges, Eymoutiers, Gueret, Bourganeuf and St Leonard de Noblat. The area is famous for its porcelain and beef. In the country huge amounts of grass and maize are grown for the beef cattle reared here. This beef is sold in France and Italy. Visitors travel to the area all year around for sport and recreation such as cycling, walking and fishing plus in the summer holiday visitors who want just to enjoy the sun and countryside. Lake Vassiviere, with its villas, is ' french' holiday resort and is about an hour away. This is a very popular tourist and fishing spot that has recently had a large number of improvements to the amenities and people travel to this destination from all over France and Europe. Most other sports and recreations are provided for in the region.

Just a note

For a couple it is often worth considering flying and then to hire a car in France at the airport. This can save a lot of travelling time and is frequently cheaper if you travel weekdays out of the school holidays. The small airport at Limoges has just been rebuilt and it is very simple to hire a car in France and get right on with your holiday. Plus you have the advantage of a left hand drive car.
