Greece is a country in south eastern Europe. Located on the southern end of the Balkan Peninsula. Greece has land borders with Albania, the Republic of Macedonia and Bulgaria to the north, and Turkey to the east. To the east lies The Aegean Sea li of mainland Greece, and the Ionian Sea to the west, the Mediterranean Sea to the south. The coastline around Greece being 14,880 km (9,246 mi) in length makes it the tenth longest in the world. The country of Greece also includes a vast number of islands ( 1400, 227 of which are inhabited), including Crete, the Dodecanese, the Cyclades, and the Ionian Islands. Greece has many mountains including that of Mount Olympus which is the highest at 2,917m. Athens is the Capital city.
