Historic Olvera

Olvera is an officially recognized Pueblo Blanco and is steeped in a rich history of Romans and Moors its crowning glory is the Moorish castle and Cathedral with museum and tourist information point,the village has a plethora of bars and restaurants to choose from providing excellent local Fayre.
In summer the beautiful outdoor municipal pool is open to all and has a great restaurant.

Local attractions and activities

At the bottom of the village runs la Via Verde de La Serrania,this is a walking,cycling and riding path converted from and old railway line that runs all the way to Puerto de Serrano 75kms away,bike hire is available.
For keen bird watchers day tours with Frank can be arranged you are virtually guaranteed to see vultures,and eagles as this is one of the most successful breeding grounds in Spain.
Should you be more adventurous and want to soar the thermals yourself nearby Algodonales is a paragliding center.
For climbers there are a few opportunity's too in nearby Montejaque and El Penon.
There area is a haven for walkers as well with many paths.
Artists will be inspired as will photographers as the quality of light is second to none.
